Epoxy for Standard Fixing Kits

Standard Fixing Kits tie a wall to the underlying foundation to create a cantilever wall.

To achieve this, the Starter Bar is epoxied into the foundation.  The epoxy method is specific to Interbloc as it allows Starter Bars to be recalibrated as the wall is being built, allowing for creep in the blocks. Using a traditional cast in concrete method would not allow this flexibility, and run the risk of the Starter Bars not being aligned with the reinforcing ducts cast into the blocks.

In order to achieve the level of quality control and structure integrity required for vertical reinforcing, Interbloc recommend the use of either Ramset Epcon C8 Xtreme, of Hilti’s Hit-RE500 V3 epoxy products. Both products deliver the seismic and structural properties required. In all cases it is the for the design engineer to specify which epoxy should be used. Below is generic information on each epoxy.
